The cxcr2 protein is a g-protein coupled receptor involved in chemokine signaling, binding ligands like cxc ligand 8. It is expressed during early development in tissues including the cranial neural crest, branchial arches, and pronephros. Expression is also detected in the lateral line primordium and otic vesicle.
