Transgenic/Mutant Price update
Dear Xenopus community,In an effort to encourage the generation of mutants and transgenics for the community the NXR has modified the price structure for custom transgenics and knockouts.
Knockouts
The NXR has a pipeline in place for generating knockout tropicalis and laevis animals. We currently are using TALENs, but we will have Crispr-Cas up and running in the next few months. The cost for making knockouts is broken down as follows:
$1500 to inject and grow embryos to adults as F0. This is either TALEN or Crispr. We confirm that mutations are present in the tadpoles and provide 10-20 adult animals.
$2000 if you would like F1 adult animals.
$500 to clone TALENs pairs. (You can also just order the TALEN constructs if you wish to use in your own lab.)
$100 to clone Crispr sgRNA construct. (Not yet available.)
Transgenics
We also can create custom transgenics using the Gateway system. We have several available marker promoters and you can provide us with your promoter of interest. Cost for creating custom transgenics is:
$1000 to inject and grow F0 frogs.
$1500 to inject and grow F1 frogs.
