Nuclei were revealed by DAPI-staining; this, to a lower extent, also stains yolk platelets (A–E). Merged images (A00–E00) demonstrate exclusively nuclear Xpat localization in control (A00B00) and GermesDEFh- expressing (C00) embryos.
