Research Description:

Maternal Determinants are factors localised in eggs which become inherited by different cells of the embryo as it divides to direct the establishment of the body plan. Our research is aimed at answering the following questions:
    - What is the molecular nature of the determinants implicated in embryonic pattering in diverse animal  species? 
    - How do they function?
    - What cellular mechanisms are responsible for localising them to specific locations in the egg ?
