Position: Assistant Professor
Research Description:
Neurobiology, and toxicology in vertebrates (Xenopus).

The main objective of the vertebrate Embryology Laboratory is to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which extracellular factors influence cell impairment and guide neural tissue formation. We employ two complementary approaches: the first investigates the early development of Xenopus laevis, the genetic prerequisites and the forms of interpretation of signs that lead the embryonic cells of the stage of Blastula to the stage of the Neurula. Another approach a little later, but still embryonic, investigates in camunodongos a new role for the CTGF (connective tissue growth factor) in events of cellular specification of the nervous system of vertebrates.
