Research Description

The ultimate objective of the work in the Brivanlou Laboratory is to understand the cellular and molecular basis of vertebrate embryonic induction, with a special emphasis on germ layer and organ formation. Toward this aim, the lab performs comparative studies using both amphibian and mammalian model systems, including human embryonic stem cells.
