Research Description:
My research focuses on evolution of thyroid hormone signaling: 1) Addressing the molecular basis of thyroid hormone action during amphibian metamorphosis. Within this context we have developed an applied somatic and germinal transgenic technology that led to the creation of the start-up WatchFrog for screening and environmental monitoring. 2) Understanding thyroid hormone action on brain development and during aging, focusing on neural stem cells in adults. 3) Understanding thyroid hormone implication in hypothalamic control of metabolism.
