The Department of Molecular Genetics at The Ohio State University invites applications for the position of Ohio Eminent Scholar in Molecular Genetics, an endowed, tenure-track position at the Associate or Full Professor level. The Ohio Eminent Scholars (OES) Program, created by the Ohio General Assembly and administered by the Ohio Board of Regents, aims to enhance the national eminence of selected outstanding academic programs at Ohio universities by attracting internationally recognized scholars. Applications are sought from those with a distinguished track record of investigating fundamental biological questions in any system. Education and Experience Requirements Required: PhD and/or MD degree; established record of creativity and excellence in research; evidence of an independent research program; commitment to teaching/mentoring. The Department The Department of Molecular Genetics (https://molgen.osu.edu/) includes more than thirty faculty investigating diverse biological questions spanning molecules to systems. Research efforts are supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure in the Department and across campus in specialized core facilities. Molecular Genetics faculty collaborate within the Department, with other departments, and as active members of campus-wide focal groups including the Center for RNA Biology, the James Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Translational Data Analytics Institute.
